    Candidate will participate in the Systems Engineering "Early Career" program which is focused on development of key Systems Engineering skills applicable to the company's product portfolio.

    Candidate will perform a variety of Systems Engineering tasks and assignments that will promote the development of their technical and strategic engineering, leadership and interpersonal skills in a structured framework within the engineering disciplines, such as Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems.

    Candidates are required to work in a cross-functional team environment.

    Performing tasks and assignments emphasizing development of technical and strategic leadership and interpersonal skills in a structured framework within the engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, software, and systems.

    Must have good communication skills, work in a team environment and can solve cross-functional technical problems.


    • Tasks include the analysis of customer's initial requirements specifications and development of product specifications / techniques to satisfy customer requirements. Assists in the development of the system architecture and interfaces of the product, as well as performing trade studies and evaluations of designs and concepts. This includes the generation of systems engineering work products such as trade studies, system architecture, requirements analysis, requirements derivation, and requirements management using appropriate tools.
    • Tasks also include the generation and analysis of performance reports and process control procedures; investigation and analysis of relevant variables potentially affecting the product and processes. This includes system design, analysis of vehicle configuration, aerodynamic and vehicle performance characterization, guidance, navigation and control systems, target tracking systems, pointing and aiming systems, fire control systems, and trajectory analysis. Additional involvement may occur in developing and maintaining engineering models and simulations that provide the basis for engineering predictions of vehicle, system and subsystem performance.
    • Additional task involvement includes development of integration and test processes and performing integration of system components, as well as determination of verification methods, development of test documentation, test planning, and product test execution. Assignment may involve the development of integration and test plans and conducts in-house system and subsystem integration tasks, environmental test tasks, and ground/flight tests of the system to required levels to meet product requirements as well as generating and analyzing performance reports and process control procedures.

    Basic Qualifications


    Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree or higher from an accredited college in Engineering, Math, or Physics.


    Ability to obtain a security clearance and considered a US Citizen.


    Desired skills

    Must be able to work in a team environment.


    A proven track record of leadership as well as a propensity for solving complex technical problems and has good verbal and written communication skills.

    Must have good communication skills, be able to effectively work in a team environment, capable of solving complex problems, and be able to focus on the complete product and the full life cycle of the product.

    Interest in weapon system development or fire control development and a proven track record of leadership.

    Experience with Python, C, C++, and MATLAB is highly desirable.

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.


    Work Schedule Information

    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


    Colorado Pay Statement

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $55,300 - $106,000 .

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.


    Premium Pay Statement

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $63,600 - $119,800.
