Correctional Medicine Associates has a Physician opportunity at La Palma Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ.
Health care delivery in a correctional setting is challenging and rewarding. It offers fulfilling opportunities for health care providers to sharpen their clinical skills, utilize cutting-edge technology, and actively manage patients, free from many of the bureaucratic processes found in traditional health care settings
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.
Provide a variety of professional medical services to inmates to include administering examinations, diagnosing medical and other problems, prescribing medications and providing treatment and follow-up care.
Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.
Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates.
Make clinic rounds
Participate in treatment team meetings where individual health plans of inmates are devised, reviewed and altered.
Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
Accept on-call status.
Successful candidate must have an active medical license in the state of Arizona. Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Medicine or Emergency Medicine background preferred. Must have active DEA license.

Eloy is located in West Central Pinal County, approximately 45 minutes outside of Tucson, AZ and 45 to 55 minutes outside of Phoenix, AZ. According to CNN MoneyWatch, Eloy has the fastest growing housing markets. With its beautiful scenery and year around activities, Eloy is a great place to live.
La Palma Correctional Center houses male inmates. It has a full clinic with day provider coverage, 24 hour nursing coverage, mental health and dental coverage.
