    Summary:
    The Clinical Chemist performs oversight of the Chemistry and POCT (Point-of-Care) division in the Department of Pathology and Laboratories. The Clinical Chemist is responsible for new method and procedure development and quality assurance in the Chemistry department. The Clinical Chemist is a consultant for the medical staff.

    The highest quality of information, cooperation and consultation will be provided through a positive and supportive attitude with a focus upon improving quality of service.

    Patients served at Cook Childrens Medical Center range in age from newborn through the adolescent period. Additionally, adults are occasionally served.

    All laboratory personnel are required to follow Cook Childrens Medical Centers Compliance policy, Code of Conduct and Clinical Laboratory Compliance Plan.


    Education:

    • Completed fellowship in clinical chemistry.
    • Board certified or eligible.

    Certification/Licensure:

    • Board certified or eligible.
    M.D or PhD required.
