    Maui Preparatory Academy, a premier independent college preparatory
    school nestled in the picturesque Napili region of Maui, is seeking a
    dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our
    esteemed faculty. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will have the
    opportunity to inspire students to lead active and healthy lifestyles while
    fostering a love for physical activity and sportsmanship.

    Position:
    Elementary and Middle School Physical Education Teacher

    Location:
    Maui Preparatory Academy, Napili, Maui, Hawaii

    Salary:
    $56,086K base salary or commensurate with years of experience
    and degrees per Maui Prep's Salary Scale


    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum
    for elementary and middle school students that promotes physical fitness,
    motor skills development, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.

    • Plan and facilitate engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons and
    activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.

    • Teach fundamental movement skills, coordination, teamwork, and
    sportsmanship through a variety of sports and recreational activities.

    • Incorporate health and wellness education into the curriculum, addressing
    topics such as nutrition, personal hygiene, and the benefits of an active
    lifestyle.

    • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages
    participation, cooperation, and respect among students.


    • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support individual
    growth and skill development.

    • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education concepts across
    the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.


    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education, Health Education,
    Exercise Science, or a related field.

    • State teaching certification in Physical Education (Grades K 8) or
    eligibility for certification.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles and best
    practices in physical education instruction.

    • Previous teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school level
    preferred.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
    effectively engage and motivate students.

    • Commitment to promoting a positive and healthy school culture through
    physical activity and wellness initiatives.
