Help us write the next chapter of Purina's history.As the Ingredient Specialist, you are responsible for assuring the quality and food safety of all raw materials/ingredients at factory.
You have shared responsibility in sampling, testing, documentation, and release of incoming raw materials. You will manage the factory's Ingredient Program to ensure compliance to company and regulatory requirements. Conduct ingredient load sampling, testing, data entry and ingredient release as required. Assist ingredient testers and unloaders with ingredient issues and appropriate escalation. Lead and support associates with ingredients delivered under fumigation. Coordinate customer returns trailer fumigation. Train, coach and audit the factory's Ingredient Program, operational pre-requisite programs, quality checks.Maintain and manage programs including but not limited to ingredient shelf-life, vendor non-compliance Reports Address issues as related to testing instruments, verifications and calibrations, software, and procedures.
Assist with compliance and auditing. Participate in continuous improvement activities and uphold Safety and Quality as core values.Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experience requiredOther Associates or bachelor's degree in science related field (Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, related technical field) preferred PCQI certification preferredDon't meet all the qualifications listed under "other"? These are preferred, but not required.

Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
