Ideal candidate must have a BSN, current TX RN license with 5 years of clinical experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
SCOPE:
Impacts the delivery of patient care and the effectiveness of clinical operations.
SUMMARY:
Provides administrative leadership, consultation and support for patient care areas during designated shift.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serves as the on-site administrative designee for nursing clinical operations during designated shift. Responsible for the allocation and utilization of resources in coordination of patient flow with appropriate departments.
Collaborates with physicians, nursing and administrative staff to ensure quality practice, coordination of patient care and adherence of regulatory standards and institutional policies.
Acts as a resource for the nursing staff and services as a liaison for the Division of Nursing. Investigates clinical incidents and patient care complaints and initiates appropriate action. Executes decision in the absence of the nursing leadership. Maintains appropriate contact with hospital administrator on-call.Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Preferred:
Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
Experience
Required:
Five years of clinical experience.
Preferred:
Two years progressive management experience.
Licensure/Certification
Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred:
National certification in oncology, specialty practice area or administration.
