    Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics team as an In-Country F-16 Field Service Engineer (FSE).

    This position is located at the European F-16 Training Center (EFTC) on Romanian Air Force (RoAF) 86th Air Base, near Borcea, Romania.

    This is an 18-month accompanied assignment (Employee +1).This position will serve as the F-16 Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support the EFTC by providing on-site advice, liaison, and informal training in the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and systems related to all EFTC F-16 Block 15 Mid-Life Update (MLU) systems on and off the aircraft.

    The objective of the FSE is to elevate the technical skill and abilities of the personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of F-16 aircraft and associated equipment/systems to a level of self-sufficiency.

    Specific tasks include but are not limited to the following:


    • Provide on-site/on-equipment informal unit training to the component level on installation, maintenance and operating techniques pertaining to the adjustment, calibration, trouble-shooting, bench check, routine maintenance, inspection and repair of the prime equipment/system.
    • Provide advice in the identification of and instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment, aerospace ground equipment (AGE) and test equipment associated with and related to F-16 aircraft and avionics systems.
    • Devise local informal training programs and provide advice in identifying needed training programs. Emphasize safety precautions to be taken in all training provided.
    • Demonstrate best methods of modifications and retrofit kits related to F-16 systems.
    • Render technical advice to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems. Provide consistent analysis of maintenance difficulties. Provide advice on the establishment of maintenance, inspection and training programs designed to improve the quality of maintenance, recommending changes as applicable.
    • Provide liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems, available in the manufacturer's plant, can be quickly disseminated to operations and maintenance personnel.
    • Provide training on the use and interpretation of applicable technical orders. Provide advice as requested to assist in accident investigation and preparing failure data reports and unsatisfactory reports.
    • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate customer requirements as needed.
    • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.**Selected candidate must pass an overseas physical. Must be a US citizen. Must have at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start. Must be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance.

    Bachelor's degree with 5 years F-16 avionics and aircraft systems/subsystems experience (combination of AV and APG) or will accept 8 years avionics and aircraft systems/subsystems experience without a degree

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
    Desired skillsThe following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from other candidates:


    • FAA A&P License (ICAO Annex 1) or EASA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance License (ICAO Annex 1)
    • Familiarity with the European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR-145)
    • Familiarity with the Field Information Network (FIN), Service Flight Line Operations (SFLO), technical drawings/blueprints, wiring diagrams, and standard maintenance manuals
    • Experience working with Foreign Government Representatives, Allied Nation Military Members, and other Contractors/Suppliers
    • 10+ years of F-16 experience. F-16 Blk 15 MLU experienceExperience working with Foreign Government representatives.
    • Experience training others to include Foreign Military.
    • Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel

    Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


    Colorado Pay StatementPay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $95,900 - $183,800 .

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
    This position is incentive plan eligible.


    Premium Pay StatementPay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $110,300 - $207,600.
