    Puget Sound Workers' Compensation Trust and Unemployment Pool (PSWCT/UP)

    seeks an experienced Finance Director


    to provide strategic and tactical leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of long-term and short-term financial initiatives across PSWCT/UP, including management and oversight of reserves and operational funds, preparation of financial statements and management reports, and coordination of internal audit functions.

    The Finance Director will be the subject matter expert and resource for providing financial information, guidance, and recommendations to PSESD and PSWCT/UP Leadership, Executive Advisory Boards, PSWCT/UP membership, and regulatory agencies.

    The position collaborates with internal partners to ensure that financial services align with membership's needs and proactively leverages business intelligence and analytics to demonstrate and support of our value proposition in preventing and mitigating exposure while maximizing injured worker outcomes.

    A member of the PSWCT/UP Leadership Team, the role informs decision making that benefits and positions PSWCT/UP and its membership for mutual success.

    Puget Sound Workers' Compensation Trust & Unemployment Pool, under the administrative oversight of Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD), is a group self-insured program that provides coverage for, and management of, workplace injuries and unemployment compensation claims for 33 school districts, PSESD, and their 45,000 employees in 6 counties within the state of Washington.

    Puget Sound Workers' Compensation Trust & Unemployment Pool (WCTUP), under the administrative oversight of Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD), is a group self-insured program that provides coverage for, and management of, workplace injuries and unemployment compensation claims for 33 school districts, PSESD, and their 45,000 employees in 6 counties within the state of Washington.

    PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts and state approved charter and private schools in Washington.

    Serving over 39% of Washington's K-12 public school students, our agency provides critical services designed to ensure that our students are ready to enter school, achieve at high levels in the K-12 system, and succeed in postsecondary endeavors.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting-related field and 4+ years of progressively responsible work-related experience; or a
    high school diploma/GED or equivalent and 8+ years of progressively responsible work-related experience
    Enterprise-wide financial reporting and accounting experience
    4 years supervisory/management experience
    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience managing consulting auditors and actuaries
    Knowledge of WA State regulations
    GASB accounting experience
    Insurance/Risk Pool accounting/financial experience
    CPA, MBA or MPA
    Advanced spreadsheet and/or database proficiency
