    Lerch Bates is hiring a Specialist The Specialist plays a vital role in our organization that works independently under the guidance of a Project Manager. This individual largely focuses on performing field testing and construction quality assurance observations. They will be reviewing submittals and technical design drawings on a limited basis. This position adapts to change quickly and is comfortable on construction sites.     What You'll Do:

    The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
    • Conduct field testing, including but not limited to electronic field testing, air barrier testing, water performance testing, and IR scanning.
    • Perform construction quality assurance observations.
    • Write thorough and accurate reports and deliver them within the required time frame.
    • Review shop drawings and submittals.
    • Develop relationships with clients and communicate timely and effectively.
    • Exercise judgment relative to performing work within the contracted scope and identifying when the work requested is beyond the scope.
    • Identify opportunities to sell and perform additional work for clients and projects.
    What You'll Bring:
    • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, operations, or architecture.
    • At least 3 years of experience working on building or construction sites or in a similar industry.
    • 1-2 years of experience working in a customer service role.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing.
    • A practical understanding of building systems, residential and commercial construction practices.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • A commitment to quality, organization, attention to detail, and consistency in work product.
    • Flexible, responsive, and confident multi-tasking skills.
    • An ability to work independently, handle multiple deadlines, and accommodate shifting priorities.
    • A self-starter mindset looking for opportunities to learn, grow skillset, and assist others in a team environment.
    • An ability to follow standard operating procedures/report template requirements.
    • A proven ability to build rapport with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractors.
    • Previous experience in Word and knowledge of Excel.
    • EIT Certificate or equivalent for architecture, engineering, or other construction activities (preferred).
    • Experience and specialization in 3 or more industry areas of technical expertise, i.e., Roofing, Enclosure related performance testing, knowledge of EIFS, Metal Panel and ACM, Hard Coat Stucco and stone veneers, brick/masonry cavity wall facades (preferred).
    • A certification in industry-specific technical areas (preferred).
    • Completed construction trades course/s (preferred).
    • Proficiency in PDF markup software such as Bluebeam (preferred).
    • Previous AutoCAD experience (preferred).
