- Project Management: Lead and manage substation electrical projects from initiation to closeout, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Design and Engineering: Develop electrical designs, specifications, and calculations for substation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Procurement and Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment, materials, and services required for project execution, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Construction Oversight: Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment and systems.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Conduct inspections, quality assurance checks, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful project delivery.
- Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records throughout the project lifecycle, including project status reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on substation design and construction.
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Strong technical skills in substation equipment, power systems, protective relaying, and control systems.
- Proficiency in engineering software/tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PLS-CADD, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical substations (e.g., IEEE, NEC, NESC).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel to project sites and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid remote/on-site work environment.
