Position Summary and Duties
Position SummaryThe Director of the Loyola University Maryland Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program provides effective leadership to implement a new BSN program and continue its growth and sustainability through effective collaboration with all stakeholders to develop an outstanding pre-licensure nursing program consistent with the best-practice standards for nursing education and the liberal arts tradition of the University.
Education in direct patient care includes a wide range of clinical rotations at Mercy Medical Center, our nursing education partner recognized nationally for nursing excellence.
The university is preparing to welcome the first BSN cohort in Fall of 2025.This dynamic position creates many opportunities to lead and grow with a developing program.
The Director of the BSN Program provides leadership in recruiting, hiring, and developing the nursing faculty and staff.The Director oversees ongoing development and evaluation of the BSN program curriculum, clinical partnerships, budget, and criteria/ processes for student applications and progress.
The Director will teach up to one course each semester depending on the number of students in each cohort and the overall needs of the Program.

The proposal is currently under review at Maryland Board of Nursing.Essential Duties· Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to establish the new BSN program's growth and development in alignment with the university's mission and strategic plan.· Hire and develop nursing faculty and staff who demonstrate educational/training and employment backgrounds consistent with university policies, state, and national regulatory bodies, and values espoused by Loyola University Maryland.· In cooperation with Loyola's Undergraduate Admissions Office, develop and maintain procedures to recruit and admit students who exhibit intellectual, social, and emotional characteristics necessary to provide safe and effective patient-centered nursing care.· Consistently monitor and implement the BSN curriculum and policies to meet best-practice standards for didactic and clinical nursing education, thus also ensuring that the aggregate scores on the NCLEX-RN licensing examination exceed the minimum required by the Maryland Board of Nursing and that the BSN program meets all accreditation requirements.· Prepare and oversee the BSN program budget, maintain a consistent records of program outcomes, and assure that all publications pertaining to the program are accurate and current.· Possess expertise and knowledge to teach selected curriculum content.
