POSITION:

Under general direction, the Grants Accountant, plans,leads, schedules, assigns and monitors the work of assignedprofessional and technical staff; This position is responsiblefor performing highly complex and time sensitive financial dutiesinvolving budget, cost accounting, projections, rate development,grant reimbursement requests, and financial reporting.

Thispositions coordinates accounting and budgetary needs betweenmultiple groups, including but not limited to Program Managementstaff, CEO Budget and Finance, GSA Procurement, and the AuditorController's Accounts Payable, Financial Planning and FinancialReporting staff.

Forecasts, analyzes and prepares financialstatements, cash flow projections, variance analyses, costbenefit analyses, time studies and financial data analysesaffecting program budgets.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE Any combination of educationand experience which has led to the acquisition of the requiredknowledge, skills and abilities.

An example of qualifyingeducation and experience includes:
Bachelor's degree with atleast eighteen (18) semester units of college-level accountingcoursework, including two (2) semesters of IntermediateAccounting,


PLUS:

Senior Accountant-MB Four (4) years ofprogressively responsible professional accounting experience,including preparation of financial statements: OR two (2) yearsas an Accountant II for the County of Ventura.

PrincipalAccountant-MB Five (5) years of progressively responsibleprofessional accounting experience with one (1) year as a lead orsupervisory level; OR two (2) years as a Senior Accountant forthe County of Ventura.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Intermediate proficiency/skills in working with financialmanagement systems.
• Intermediate proficiency/skills inMicrosoft Excel.
• Budget accounting experience.
