    Job Description


    Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Transplant and Cellular Therapy, ensures that patients have adequate insurance coverage for the initial, ancillary, specialty care and subsequent aftercare visits and services.

    Provides education to the patient and family regarding the financial clearance process, offers information regarding additional health coverage for which they may qualify, assists in the procurement of additional information and applications from specific agencies.

    Coordinates benefits in both hospital and physician billing environments. This position supports patients in the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center receiving bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies.
    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred.
    Three years experience in financial counseling in a hospital business office or other healthcare setting is required.
