Montessori Preschool – Assistant Teacher
Age Groups:
● Junior Toddler: 1–2 years
● Toddler House: 2–3 years
● Children's House: 3–5 years
Position Summary:
The Montessori Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in maintaining a prepared Montessori environment while modeling faith-based values. The Assistant helps guide children with respect, care, and consistency and contributes to a calm, orderly classroom.
Essential Responsibilities:
● Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities and routines
● Assist children with independence, self-care, and social development
● Help maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and material readiness
● Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being
● Model respectful, faith-centered behavior and language
● Assist with transitions, meals, rest time, and outdoor play
● Communicate appropriately with families and staff
● Follow Montessori principles and school policies
● Complete and maintain DCF training requirements
Qualifications:
● Minimum 40 DCF training hours
● CPR/First Aid Certified (required or willingness to obtain)
● Montessori experience or training preferred
● Experience working with young children
● Commitment to a faith-based school community
● Patient, nurturing, and team-oriented
