    Description
    job summary:
    A Quality/Test Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Alpharetta, GA area. This job is responsible for ensuring product integrity by developing and implementing quality standards, conducting process audits, and collaborating with teams to address and rectify defects, requiring strong analytical, communication, and technical skills in blueprint reading and CAD software.

    responsibilities:
  • Conduct process audits twice a week

  • BPA (Back Plate Assembly)

  • BPW (Back Plate Wiring)

  • PEA (Power Envelope Assembly)

  • PEW (Power Envelope Wiring)

  • Shop Test

  • Investigate and document top 3 defects monthly (focus on 80% of issues)

  • Investigate/document RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)

  • Document 5Why and corrective action plan

  • Implement and monitor corrective action with team

  • Review operations processes and update work instructions

  • Perform internal audits per the audit schedule

  • Review and update ISO 9001:2015 documents and schedule meetings with managers

  • Review and update QMS documentation in SharePoint

  • Document and inspect supplier quality issues

  • Record serial numbers of issues impacting quality and document in AQE database

  • Document all nonconformances

  • Receive AQE training

  • Complete engineering and internal audit certification training Education & Experience Required:

  • 2-3 years of experience

  • Experience over education Technical Skills:

  • Blueprint-reading/schematics

  • Documentation of processes

  • Performing process/internal audits

  • Responding to internal quality, as-delivered quality, and supplier quality issues

  • Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets (pivot tables) Soft Skills:

  • strong communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills
