    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Country Club, locally known as "Country", is a private, member-owned country club in Pepper Pike, OH. The Club is currently seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Skeet Range Safety Officer. The Skeet House and Skeet Field offer members a unique weekend experience that allows them to enjoy the excitement of sport shooting The Range Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safe and enjoyable use of the skeet field. The Range Safety officer will work under the guidance and tutelage of an experienced Safety Range Officer and Skeet Instructor.

    SCHEDULE

    This is a part-time, seasonal position, with work hours scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays. This position works approximately 12-15 hours per week. Year-round and/or full-time opportunities are available for the right applicant willing to work in another department at the Club, such as golf course maintenance, overnight security (overnight), food security, food and beverage, golf operations, or racquet sports.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Safety Oversight and Rule Enforcement:

    • Strictly enforce firearm safety protocols and rules for all the participants and their guests.
    • Guide participants through the safety orientation process.
    • Observe the Skeet Field to ensure adherence to firearm safety rules.

    Member Experience:

    • Greet members and their guests with enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor.
    • Cultivate a welcoming environment in the Skeet House by refreshing amenities, preparing the fireplace, and providing exceptional service.
    • Assist with managing the Skeet Field Sheet and maintaining a timely schedule.

    Facility and Field Maintenance:

    • Assist in keeping the buildings and skeet field in a clean, well-maintained, and orderly condition.
    • Ensure that the target-throwing machine and firearms are in good working condition.
    • Assist with range calibration and re-loading.

    Record Keeping:

    • Ensure accurate billing and scorekeeping.
    • Assist with inventory management of ammunition and targets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • No experience is necessary.
    • Regular attendance, that is punctual and dependable, is required.
    • Experience with firearm safety is preferred but not mandatory.
    • Good interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach.
    • Basic knowledge of shooting sports or a willingness to learn.
    • Ability to obtain Range Safety Officer Certification. The Club will assist with obtaining this requirement.

    Regular attendance, that is punctual and dependable, is required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to work outdoors with prolonged exposure to cold weather and winter conditions.
    • Must adhere to established firearm safety protocols, given the prolonged exposure to loud conditions.
    • Ability to assist with snow removal activities on the Skeet range.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    COMPENSATION

    • Hourly position that will commensurate based on level of experience.
