Job Overview: As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the production processes within a steel manufacturing facility. Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety throughout all production operations. You will collaborate with various teams, including production staff, engineering, maintenance, and quality control, to achieve production goals and uphold industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Scheduling:
· Work with our Planning Department to develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and delivery schedules.
· Create production schedules, considering resource availability, equipment capacity, and production goals.
Process Optimization:
· Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
· Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
Quality Assurance:
· Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain high-quality production standards.
· Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry specifications.
Team Management:
· Lead and supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
· Foster a positive and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Equipment Maintenance:
· Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure that all production equipment is well-maintained and operational.
· Schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Budget Management:
· Develop and manage the production budget, optimizing resource utilization and controlling costs.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or safety.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a managerial role within the steel manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of steel production processes, equipment, and quality control.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
