Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and performing routine and required maintenance on company forklifts, hoists, cranes, welding machines, overhead doors, lights, and general facilities.

Essential Functions of the Job:

· Locates the source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, diagnoses, troubleshoots, and implements corrective actions.

· Make basic repairs and general maintenance (plumbing, mechanical & electrical) of the facility and grounds.

· Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies, procedures and rules.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

· Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot machines, tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.

· Basic knowledge of preventive and routine maintenance of shop equipment – including shop tools and forklifts.

· Basic electrical, hvac and plumbing knowledge.

· Able to read and use basic measuring equipment.

· Must be able to read and understand operators / owners' manuals

· Ability to work in a team environment and get along with others – position requires constant interaction with all production related employees and vendors.

· Forklift and Scissor Lift experience.

· Basic math skills

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma, or GED, preferred.
