- Inspect tools and equipment daily before use and maintain in good working order

POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler is responsible for operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and semi-truck / trailer in order to move material around the yard in a safe and efficient manner. Learn proper rigging and loading techniques

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
Valid Class A CDL preferred
OTHER SKILLS
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; good judgment; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work effectively with others. While performing certain duties of the job, the employee is required to squat, bend, twist, lift, pull, and reach. Lifting is required up to 75 lbs. Climbing is required up to 6 feet off the ground on a ladder or loading equipment. Must be flexible in hours worked and willing to work overtime.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position performs work mostly in the Yard setting which includes a variety of working conditions. These include the following conditions: noise level fluctuations from moderate to high, use of personal protective equipment, machine/equipment use. Position involves everyday risks or exposure to elements that require safety precautions. Position will be required to work in adverse weather conditions such as heat, humidity, cold, precipitation, etc.
