    MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication and Industrial and Defense applications.     Applications Engineer - Principal

    Job Description:Our customerapplications require high speed (GHz) ICs for optical media access and signaltransport. These applications are characterized by international development,fast design cycles, and demanding analog performance.
    SpecificResponsibilities:Specialize in MACOM's High-PerformanceAnalog ICs and their specific applications. Provide expert level engineeringsupport to customers, sales, FAEs, and marketing. Work with design engineeringto produce product documentation and applications collateral.As aproduct specialist, solve challenging problems through analysis and hands-onlab work.
    Qualifications / Skills:

    • A BSEE or similar degreeand 10 years of experience in a related position are required, or MSEE degree with 4 years of experience is preferred.
    • Abilityto work in a team environment and strong communications skills areessential.
    • Solidworking knowledge inhighperformance analog applications is required.
    • Extrapolatingthe measured results to circuit analysis is crucial to success.
    • Abackground in Design, Product, Evaluation, or Test Engineering in a mixedsignal or analog environment is considered beneficial to a successfulcandidate.
    • Labexperience for validation and customer module testing should includeadvanced test and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, DCA, spectrumanalyzers, network analyzers, and BERTs.
    • Specificexperience with high speed electrical or optical transmission interfaces,highly desirable.
    • Creatingand managing customer related documentation.
    • Afamiliarity with optical transmission construction such as 400G, 800G,1.6T SR, DR transceiver modules and associated standards is highlydesirable.
    • Familiarwith simulation tools such ADS, PCB tools such as PADS, Altium, Allegro.

    Salary Range: $97,902 - $166,698
    Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on severalfactors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates'experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
