    Responsibilities:

    We are looking for a Full Time skilled Occupational Therapist who will provide individual and/or group services in our outpatient programs in Paoli, PA. The OT will assist people with function in all of their environments and address the physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of their well-being through engagement with occupation. Specific areas of treatment may include but are not limited to: upper extremity function training (range of motion, strengthening, tone management, sensation, coordination), activities of daily living training (self-dressing, self-grooming, toileting, self-feeding), home management training (laundry, room organization, meal planning and meal preparation), community reentry training (shopping, money management), visual training, perceptual training, training in the use of adaptive equipment and compensatory strategies as needed. Provide group and individual occupational therapy services to clients in collaboration with the treatment team.

    Essential Duties & Functions

    • Performs examinations consisting of patient/client history, systems review and appropriate tests and measures.
    • Evaluation of prognosis and implementation of plan of care to provide intervention, conduct re-examination, modify interventions based on outcomes and development and implement discharge plan.
    • Evaluating and adapting the environment at home, work, school and other environments to promote individuals optimal function.
    • Utilizes treatment techniques to promote ability, re-store function and prevent disability which interrelate with other disciplines and supports ReMeds philosophy
    • Provides educational programs, experiential learning, and treatment groups or classes to address assertiveness, self-awareness, interpersonal and social skills, stress management, and role development.
    • Facilitating the development of skills needed for independent living as using community resources, managing ones home, managing time, medication and being safe at home and in the community.
    • Providing evaluation, assessment and training for ADLs.
    • Providing evaluation, assessment and treatment for sensory processing deficits.
    • Plans and implements evidence based in-service presentations to appropriate audience as indicated.
    • Provides direct and consultative occupational therapy services, including assessments and treatments in accordance with regulation, standards, and guidelines defined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Code of Ethical Practice, State Practice Acts, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPPA), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and established ReMed policy and procedures.
    • Train/educate families, funders, employers others as needed to support the treatment and discharge plan.
    • Assess and implement treatments for vocational/avocational pursuits by providing timely assessments for the vocational evaluation; providing task analysis for jobs as requested; developing strategies for the job; and providing job coaching as needed.
    • Assess, develop, and monitor, as needed adaptive equipment and/or compensatory strategies based on the treatment and discharge plans.
    • Responsible for teaching other team members strategies needed to support the clients treatment plan.
    • Assists RCM and team in discharge planning process, assessing and securing needed services, modifying strategies for discharge setting, and educating caregivers.
    • Participates in team meetings and/or provides necessary information and interfaces with treatment team to establish rehabilitation goals and coordinates treatment necessary to support clients treatment plan.
    • In collaboration with the RCM/Clinical Specialist/Director, identifies and consults with physicians and other health care providers outside of the primary treatment team as needed.
    • Keeps current with professional certification/licensing requirements and participates in continuing education.
    • Writes monthly TX plan reports according to guidelines and time frames in the Goal Writing manual and documents therapy sessions on session notes as they occur.
    • Records the accurate date and length of each client contact or service in the program file or monthly billing sheet according to program guidelines.
    • Prioritizes tasks to balance direct client treatment, staff communication, program responsibilities and written documentation.
    Qualifications:
    • Completion of a bachelors degree in occupational therapy and state licensure is required; professional certification and or a masters degree in occupational therapy is preferred.
    • At least 2 years of brain injury and/or neuro experience is preferred. Experience in treatment of neurologically related disorders in community based settings is strongly preferred.
    • Excellent planning, organizational, writing, and time management skills are required. Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers is a must.
