    Description

    Job Title: Temporary Warehouse Consumption Clerk I

    The Neil Jones Food Company is a well-established organization specializing in processing high-quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With over five decades in the industry, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC is dedicated to serving foodservice, retail, industrial, and institutional clients with top-notch canned and pouched products. NJFC boasts three cutting-edge production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA; San Benito Foods in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

    We are currently seeking a Temporary Warehouse Consumption Clerk I to play a key role in tracking and managing all inventory transactions efficiently and accurately. This position involves closing out daily production, reconciling inventory transactions related to production runs, and updating the company's ERP system. The role also includes providing support for various warehouse functions. This seasonal opportunity aligns with the fresh pack season at our San Benito Foods plant in Hollister, CA, usually from June to October.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Closes production and validates finished goods inventories and consumption.
    • Verifies the accuracy of yield quantities.
    • Calculates and confirms the quantities of items produced, materials used, and scrap amounts before finalizing the production closing process.
    • Checks inventory quantities for all production components and prepares work orders.
    • Coordinates production run items required for orders with the shipping department.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; preferably an Associate degree in business, supply chain, or related field, or a suitable combination of education and experience showcasing the ability to perform the role's key responsibilities effectively.
    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant warehouse experience, including receiving exposure, ideally in a food manufacturing setting.
    • At least 2 years of computer operation experience, specifically in Excel; familiarity with PeopleSoft MRP is advantageous.
    • Proficient English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking); bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is a plus.
    • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any assigned shifts during the fresh pack season, typically spanning from July to early October.

    Compensation:

    The salary ranges between $20 and $22 per hour, determined by experience and qualifications.
