Hartford Funds is looking for a motivated person who is interested in joining a data-focused team supporting an enterprise data warehouse.
The candidate for this role will need a technical foundation with an understanding on how data applies to business operations.
This resource will draw on their experience to improve processes and find actionable insights for operational and strategic decision making.
The resource will be a team player and will use their strong communications skills in everyday interaction with other analysts and various areas of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverage technical foundation in SQL, Tableau and Python to discover actionable insights in data
Perform data analysis and data updates to ensure accurate reporting
Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to help business users interpret analytics
Provide support to business and drive operational enhancements
Work with vendors and/or internal systems to improve quality and timeliness of data
QUALIFICATIONS:
3 – 5 years' experience in a Data Analyst like role
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, another computer-based discipline or like experience
Required technical skills:
Databases:
Strong experience with SQL-based databases (Snowflake is a plus)
Python
Expertise and fluency in SQL language
Knowledge of fundamental data modeling concepts (e.g., ER Diagrams, normalization, etc.)
Knowledge of data warehousing techniques (dimensional modeling / star schema, etc.)
Knowledge building reports (eg. Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, etc...) is a plus
Experience with various integration patterns (e.g. Flat Files, Web Services, etc.) is a plus
Must be comfortable/excited working in a fast-paced, high impact environment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to obtain a good understanding of the business context of a problem in order to ensure the solution is optimal in solving the business needs
