The Budget and Financial Analyst will have responsibilities related to budget formulation and budget execution for an agency in the Department of Commerce. This position will work on-site three days per week, with two days working from home as long as approved by the government customer.

Responsibilities:

• budget formulation and budget execution activities.
• regular and special budget reports and analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.
• the feasibility of automating government financial business practices.
• in defining and executing governmental financial business practices and incorporate the defined processes into an automated solution Must be able to communicate with both IT- and financial-oriented individuals to document the flow, recommend opportunities, influence recommendations, and serve as the liaison between the financial specialist and automation specialist that do not have both disciplines.
• sound accounting and data processing principles while developing automated processes to fit an existing financial application.

Requirements:

• degree in business, management, finance, accounting or related field (or equivalent)
• years of professional related experience in accounting and finance
• experience with budget formulation and execution

Experience documenting standard operating procedures for their area of responsibility
