Field Services Technician

Small Vancouver based company looking for a Field Services Technician to perform pressure washing, roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, and window cleaning services for both residential and commercial customers.

You will be expected to work yourself into a lead role by gaining the necessary skills within 6 to 12 months


NOTE:

Because you will be visiting and interacting with our valued and hard-earned customers you will be required to complete a criminal background check and drug screening at the time of hire and intermittently thereafter.

Typical Job Duties

Pressure washing all types of outdoor concrete and wood surfaces

• Using proper safety equipment including but not limited to fall restraint systems, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and breathing respirators when spraying detergents.

Roof cleaning

• Placing and climbing ladders up to 40' high (but typically only 2 stories)
• Using fall restraint systems including harness and rope systems
• Manual hand brushing roof surfaces to remove MOSS
• Operating a hand or backpack leaf blower to clean the roofing surfaces
• Operating a chemical spray system (moss treatment spray system)

Gutter cleaning

• Placing and climbing ladders up to 40' high (but typically only 2 stories)
• Walking along rooflines
• Using fall restraint systems including harness and rope systems

(when working on the roof)

• Manual hand scooping gutters to remove leaves and other materials

Window cleaning typically includes:

• Safely removing and reinstalling window screens
• Cleaning window screens
• Manually cleaning exterior windows using both squeegee and water fed pole systems
• Using proper safety equipment including but not limited to fall restraint systems, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and breathing respirators when spraying detergents

NOTE:

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including occasional snow in the winter, high temperatures in the summer and everything else in between.

Regularly required to bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, use hands to fingers, handle and/or feel objects, use tools or controls, speak and hear clearly.

Often required to lift heavy items including ladders up to 90 pounds

Employees are required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include fall gear, gloves, goggles, facemasks, respirators, ear and eye protection, aprons, and belts.

Job Requirements

• Valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation is required, you must be able to get to and from office (occasionally work site).
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule:

o Our schedule is completely dependent on the customer's needs and while most work is performed Monday – Friday between 7 am and 6 pm.

Depending on commercial job requirements, additional night work may be necessary.

• Customer Communication (Speaking Skills): Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one situations with customers and other employees of the company. Fluent English is required.
• Strong attention to detail
• Dedication to performing quality workmanship on every job
• Ability to perform in both a team and individual work environment

Professional Appearance

• Required to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in uniform at all times.
• Uniform will be provided

Bonus Skills

• For a Lead Position (only): 2+ years' experience in the roof cleaning and pressure washing industry Prior experience working with commercial pressure washing equipment
• Prior experience in the roofing or roof cleaning fields
• Prior experience installing or cleaning gutters or windows
• Mechanical skills (to help with regular maintenance on the company machinery)
• Professional sales experience pertaining to the "home services" industry
