Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced
RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a ND or compact
RN license.
Acute care hospital setting with a 61-bed combined Med/Surg float unit
Patient population includes surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic complications)
Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, with nurse aide support at a 1:15 ratio
Telemetry is available on the unit; a monitor tech reads strips with
RN confirmation
RT equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Charting is done in Epic
12-hour night shifts with an every-other-weekend requirement
On-call/standby requirement with LCD
Floating is required, with travelers given first float priority
Scrubs of any color are acceptable
Orientation consists of a travel CBO session and a unit-specific float checklist
Holiday coverage is required on an every-other-holiday basis
Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered

Requirements
Active ND or compact (NLC)
RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
Current BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg
RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
A valid driver's license must be provided for consideration
2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
