- Handle AP as it relates to the firm expenses
- Process client and trust deposits on a daily basis
- Manage journal entries as they relate to cleared check or wires into/out of accounts
- Enter vendor bills for payment
- Manage credit card payments and reconciliation
- Make sure the JACS / Superior Court accounts are funded
- Process check requests in general ledger system
- Handle questions from staff and vendors
- Remit Sales Use tax on Quarterly basis
- Process annual 1099 filings each year
- Balance petty cash account
- Process all MERP, FSA payments, and employee expense reimbursements
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Other roles and responsibilities as needed
- Ability to adapt to new technology and procedures
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a collaborative and pleasant manner with others
- Work overtime as required
- Good attendance and punctuality
- High School Diploma, College a plus.
- 1-3 years' experience in Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable or related field. preferably for a law firm,
- Knowledge of software management system for handling legal files
- General knowledge of accounting software packages
- Tech savvy knowledge of internet and operating systems
- Proficient use of PC with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Advance-level of use on Outlook and Word
- Understanding of office equipment, i.e. copiers, scanners
