    Description

    job summary:
    We are seeking a talented Senior Robotics Systems Engineer to join our drone design team in Orem, Utah. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our team to architect, develop, and debug complex drone systems, encompassing both electronic hardware and software components. This role requires expertise in robotic system engineering, embedded software development, electronic hardware design, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in low-level embedded programming, Linux environments, and proficiency in various communication protocols and sensor interfaces.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

    • Solid experience in embedded software development, particularly in Linux environments.

    • Proficiency in electronic hardware debugging and schematic analysis.

    • Background in robotic system engineering, with demonstrated expertise in board bring-up, electronic troubleshooting, and sensor interface design.

    • Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.

    • Experience with sensor software and hardware interface for IMU, GPS, and magnetometer.

    • Demonstrated ability in system test and evaluation, including test plan development and execution.

    • Previous experience in drone system design highly desired.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    • Must be a US citizen, with the ability to maintain compliance with ITAR regulations.

    responsibilities:
    • Work closely with the drone design team to architect, develop, and debug complex drone systems, including electronic hardware and software components.

    • Utilize robotic system engineering experience to contribute to the design and implementation of drone systems, focusing on low-level embedded programming, Linux environments, and C/C++ development.

    • Collaborate on electronic hardware design and debug activities, including schematic analysis, board bring-up, and troubleshooting of communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART).

    • Interface with various sensors, including IMU, GPS, and magnetometer, both in terms of hardware connections and software integration.

    • Conduct system test and evaluation activities to ensure the performance and reliability of drone systems under various operating conditions.

    • Apply basic algorithm experience to sensor processing, conditioning, and implementation of state machines to enhance drone functionality.

    • Leverage previous drone system design experience to contribute insights and best practices to the team.

    • Work on-site in Orem, Utah, on a full-time basis, ensuring close collaboration with the team and adherence to project timelines.

    • Maintain compliance with ITAR regulations, requiring US citizenship.
