    Job Summary:
    The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing HVAC and plumbing systems for both small and large-scale projects. This role involves collaborating with project managers, field teams, and other disciplines to create permit-ready and construction documents while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
    Key Responsibilities:
    Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects.
    Perform engineering calculations including load analysis, equipment selection, and pressure loss evaluations.
    Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit to support construction and permitting processes.
    Conduct field surveys to assess existing conditions and integrate findings into project designs.
    Provide technical support to field teams and project managers, ensuring seamless project execution.
    Coordinate with electrical engineers and other trades to ensure system compatibility.
    Review and analyze contractor submittals and change orders for accuracy and compliance.
    Prepare LEED calculations and energy compliance documents when required.
    Ensure designs align with local building codes, industry standards, and best practices.
    Assist in project meetings to present and discuss design solutions.
    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing system design.
    Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Trace 700; BIM experience preferred.
    Strong understanding of mechanical system types, equipment, and installation procedures.
    Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry compliance standards.
    LEED accreditation preferred but not required.
    Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
    Experience working with mechanical contractors or engineering consulting firms is a plus.
