Company BackgroundFounded in 1973, Mid-State started out as a Machine Shop with 15 employees servicing mostly the Phosphate industry.

Today, Mid-State employees over 900 people serving the Phosphate, Chemical, Power, Citrus, Sand & Aggregate, & many other industries by offering turnkey solutions including field maintenance, fabrication, dragline repair, machining, pump repair, gearbox repair, & valve repair.

Mid-State is equipped with industry experts, over 200,000 square feet of shop space, & overhead crane capacity up to 35 tons all which allow us to meet all of our clients' needs.

OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team as part of our growing Electrical group.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing electrical aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in electrical engineering, strong project management skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing electrical construction projects.

ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and Design:
Collaborate with project managers, and other stakeholders to develop electrical designs and plans for construction projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and provide input during the project planning phase.

Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities.

Construction Oversight:
Supervise and inspect electrical installations during the construction phase to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project.

Budget and Resource Management:
Assist in the preparation of project estimating and budgets related to electrical components.
Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to financial constraints.

Quality Assurance:
Implement and maintain quality control processes for electrical installations.
Conduct inspections and tests to verify the functionality and reliability of electrical systems.

Project Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and as-built documentation

Client Interaction:

Communicate regularly with clients to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the electrical aspects of the construction.

RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 3-5 years of proven experience in construction electrical engineering.

Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.10-15 years of demonstrated hands on experience in the relevant areas will be considered in lieu of Electrical Engineering degree and/or PE licenseCurrently in possession (or ability to obtain) of a Florida Electrical Contractor's license preferredIn-depth knowledge of electrical design principles, construction methods, and materials.

In-depth knowledge of single and three phase electrical systems required. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics at a high level.
Knowledge of high voltage switchgear and transformer testing a plusPLC Programming capabilities would be a plus.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to aid in estimating projects as needed to support departmental growthMust be able to visit job sites and walk down jobs to develop scope of work to support estimating process Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in construction.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must be able to travel intermittently to job sites for pre-bids, project reviews, etc. Some overnight travel may be required.

This position reports to the Electrical Division Manager.
