    Description

    Role Description:

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior CAD Designer at Car Studio located in Troy, MI.

    The Senior CAD Designer will be responsible for technical drawing, drawing, computer-aided design (CAD), construction drawings, and design engineering for Interior Systems (IP, Console, Door Panel, Hard Trims, Headliner). The role involves creating and modifying design models, collaborating with the engineering team, developing detailed drawings, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of designs. Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential for success in this role.

    Responsibilities:

    • Generate design concepts and produce conforming designs regarding the defined specifications and parameters
    • The Candidate is responsible for Interior Systems (IP, Console, Door Panel, Hard Trims, Headliner).
    • Prepare and execute design release in the defined PLM system
    • Support design FMEA studies
    • Develop feasibility designs, while considering available manufacturing processes and support the engineering calculations process for mass, strength and mechanical performance.
    • Maintain strong familiarity with specific customer CAD data integrity requirements and apply as required
    • Participate in design reviews
    • Maintain projects & assignments are completed within scheduled timeframes
    • Provide alternative design solutions accompanied as requested

    Education and Experience:

    • Associated degree preferred.
    • Plastic Injection Molding and Metal knowledge.
    • Experience in the utilization of CATIA V5.
