Job summary
We are seeking a Medical Records Technician to perform various functions vital to patient care.Under direct supervision, assists with organizing sorting and filing all incoming and outgoing patient information.
Prepares charts for patient visits files locates retrieves and delivers medical records and/or electronic medical records as assigned.
SUPPORTS AND ADHERES TO THE US ONCOLOGY COMPLIANCE PROGRAM INCLUDING THE CODE OF ETHICS AND BUSINESS STANDARDS DEMONSTRATES AN UNDERSTANDING OF PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY TO PROTECT THE PATIENT AND CLINIC/CORPORATION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scan and attach all internal external correspondence and electronic medical reports to the patient's medical record chart according to the filing system.
- Pulls charts for scheduled appointments in advance according to guidelines ensure that all appropriate documentation for the scheduled patient visit is attached to the patient's chart.
- Prints mails or faxes patient chart information as requested authorized documents all processes releases medical records information persons or agencies according State Federal regulations compile maintains patients' medical records document condition treatment provide data research cost control efforts catalogue charts storage keeps electronic reports those records submits request chart retrieval storage comply with a medical request makes copies dictated interval notes alerts physicians who behind monitors physician dictation completed EMR ensures guide picked up at designated locations returns Medical Records follows policies procedures contribute efficiency front office provides backup assistance needed front office staff sends dictations referring providers via manual faxing right fax electronically Direct Message logs FMLA/Disability forms provider completion will mail fax forms contact patient once completed sends outgoing faxes distributes incoming faxes prepares correspondence memos forms typing requested supervisor may convert dosimetry plans into PDR zip file when transfer facility treatment logs FMLS Disability forms provider completion will mail fax forms contact patent once completed
