Nature of WorkThe CDU2 psychiatrist will provide direct patient care in the emergency department. The psychiatrist is responsible for collaborating with other emergency department faculty and staff, other CDU2 psychiatrists, and APPs. The psychiatrist will also oversee residents and medical students rotating through the service.
This position will include hour clinical shifts per 28-day period (including some nights and weekends) - i.e., 36 hrs/wk = 1.0 FTE.
The CDU2 psychiatrist will be exempt from the regular Department of Psychiatry call schedule.
This position involves evaluating and treating behavioral emergencies and substance intoxication and withdrawal in the emergency department alongside a team of behavioral health evaluators, nurses, emergency medicine physicians, APPs, residents, and medical students.
Please note, this is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Clinical Senior Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $200,000 to $215,000.
Senior Instructor:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $200,000 to $215,000.
Assistant Professor:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $200,000 to $215,000.
Associate Professor:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $220,000 to $245,000.
Professor:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $250,000 to $300,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
