- Weld components with weld equipment as specified by procedures, layout, blueprint, diagrams, work order, and oral instruction.
- Welds range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions.
- Work includes set-up, laying out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and/or equipment products.
- Mechanically inclined and skilled on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
- Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and procedures.
- Performs predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Fabricates parts using shop equipment.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment, in elevated areas, and in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of standard mechanical practices, methods, materials, and tools.
- Ability to handle a variety of duties without close supervision.
- Maintain proper shop paperwork.
- Take direction and accomplish duties outlined by your supervisor and ask questions when you do not understand the task.
- Be dependable to your team: You work as a team and progress as a team.
- Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in industrial maintenance and welding or a recent graduate of a welding program
- Must have a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record that will meet insurability requirements to drive company equipment.
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment as directed by the supervisor.
- Must have keen troubleshooting skills and a positive, professional attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends.
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance.
- Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways.
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
- Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fuel, oil, and other chemicals.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment.
- Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required.
