    Description
    Jabil Defense and Aerospace is looking for a Project Engineer to work on-site in our St. Petersburg, FL location.


    The Project Engineer supports and coordinates operational engineering projects related to Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and Electronics Assembly from initiation through to completion.

    They will also support project planning, staffing, progress reporting, people management, and troubleshooting for engineering projects. Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost.
    This is an onsite in-person position

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Project Engineer is the primary customer-facing contact and lead Workcell engineer representing the Manufacturing Engineering group, responsible for production layout and capability related to manufacturing CCA's and Electronic Assemblies utilizing a mix of Surface Mount (SMT) and Through-Hole (TH) technology along with mechanical build-up and cabling.

    Provides day-to-day direction to supporting Manufacturing Engineer(s) and Manufacturing Engineering Assistant(s).


    Supports the communication of Jabil's manufacturing capabilities and those of the Engineering group; identifies and suggests solutions for any immediate need or enhancement in a timely manner.

    Review purchase orders, quality requirements, and Statements of Work to determine engineering feasibility and impact.

    Review and interpret customer documentation and Engineering Changes for implementation into the production facility.

    Understand and drive regulatory and compliance certifications as appropriate. Regulatory requirements surrounding ISO9000, ISO14000, AS9100, TUV, NADCAP and Quality requirements IPC-610/J-STD-001 Class 3.

    Assess manufacturing requirements (manpower, capital equipment, floor space, etc.) related to customer projects/assemblies and coordinate acquisition when required.

    Drive continuous improvement and optimization utilizing proactive methodologies and trend analysis.

    Assists in the preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of equipment set-ups, manufacturing layout, and process changes and/or corrective actions. Provide support for the quoting activities by participating in the initial process design, development, and implementation phases.

    Provide ongoing direction and training on process development, root cause analysis, and systematic problem-solving.

    Evaluate and provide input to inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines.

    Review supplier, internal, and customer discrepancies, and coordinate and track the effectiveness of corrective/proactive action efforts.

    Review purchase orders, quality requirements, and Statements of Work to determine engineering feasibility and impact.

    Support the drive for proactive participation with suppliers and (when possible) aid in their process improvement efforts.

    Interface and provide technical support on engineering and quality issues with the customer as needed.

    Assist Design Engineers with Design for Manufacture issues.

    Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are "best in class."

    Other duties that may be assigned.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline is required.

    Minimum 5 years of work-related experience required in engineering, project management, or related discipline


    OR
    an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

    Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.

    Prior Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience in Electronics Manufacturing including:

    Demonstrated knowledge of components, printed circuit boards, and chemistries used in electronics manufacturing.

    Demonstrated ability to design and implement processes related to relevant electronics manufacturing technology.

    Demonstrated knowledge of IPC-610/J-STD-001 requirements.

    Demonstrated understanding of labor capacity, quoting, and efficiency.

    Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and e-mail skills required.
