    Introduction At Shimano high quality is key and part of this drive is product compliance, adhering to technical standards and sustainability.

    The challenge of the Product Compliance Specialist within Bicycle Components (BC) is to ensure Shimano is complying to regulations, shaping a sustainable future and

    defines new (technical) product standards in an internationally diverse setting, working closely together with our Shimano headquarters in Japan and many industry partners.


    The position is placed in our Product Quality & Compliance team consisting of specialists in the field of Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA), technical norming & standards, product compliance and (environmental) sustainability.

    The role collaborates with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. And provide services to Global Team Shimano and Shimano-owned brands such as PRO, , Lazer and Softgoods.


    With a strong regulatory focus, this is a challenging position in a rapidly changing market with evolving products, new product categories and diversifying market.

    Candidate must have a strong adherence to

    regulations and quality combined with a healthy dose of commercial and business sense in order to spot potential opportunities offered to Shimano.

    The Challenge

    Actively participate in technical standards and norming workgroups (NEN, CEN, ISO, CONEBI and JBCE) on national, European, and global level on behalf of Shimano
    Ensuring all regulatory obligations are met in the jurisdictions in which the company operates.
    Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant product regulations and (industry) standards.
    Ensure all compliance documentation, including product specifications and processes are well managed and maintained within Shimano Europe.
    Provide training and guidance to cross-functional teams and sales departments on product compliance requirements and best practices.

    Maintain regular contact with key internal and external stakeholders acting as a point of contact for compliance / technical standards / sustainability related questions.

    Liaise with our global HQ in Japan on technical standards, compliance, and

    sustainability topics.
    Proactively advise internal teams (procurement, product managers, marketing) regarding product compliance requirements.
    Effectively preparing and submitting reports to regulators as required by the regulations.
    Create and update product compliance guidelines and procedures.
    What are we looking for?

    At least +5 years of experience in product regulatory compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
    In-depth knowledge of relevant technical regulations and standards within Europe (such as REACH/WFD, RoHS, MD/MR LVD, EMC). And a decent overview of different international regulatory standards and relevant legislation related to EU Green Deal.
    Experience in participating in technical

    regulations/standards

    and norming workgroups.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to explain difficult technical topics in an understandable way.

    Identifies problems in processes and seeks continuous improvement.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
