    Description

    Job Summary

    Downtown Denver law firm seeks a skilled legal assistant with 3+ years of litigation experience. Municipal law expertise is preferred but not required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Proofread and edit correspondence, memoranda, ordinances, and legal documents
    • Create exhibit, hearing, briefing, and trial notebooks
    • Schedule and prepare for depositions (exhibits, court reporters, transcripts)
    • Manage and review documents, including confidential and privileged content
    • Draft resolutions, ordinances, proposed orders, and other pleadings
    • E-file documents through CCES, Pacer, and other jurisdictional platforms
    • Enter time into TABs billing software
    • Perform general office duties, such as copying, scanning, and printing
    • Conduct legal and online research
    • Organize and maintain case files, both paper and electronic
    • Analyze and summarize documents, including preliminary privilege review
    • Read and route incoming and internal mail
    • Schedule hearings for hearing officers
    • Serve process on defendants, depositions, trials, etc.
    • Prepare for trials and subpoenas
    • Cover workload of other legal assistants/paralegals when needed

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of litigation experience; municipal law experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and local court rules (particularly Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure)
    • Advanced knowledge of legal terminology
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Work Environment

    Full-time; Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 p.m.; ability to work from home 1 day/week after completion of probationary period
