    Description

    Selby Jennings has teamed up with a top financial services company in search of an Information Governance professional to join their team.

    The Information Governance Analyst will be responsible for:

    • Collaborating with stakeholders to foster a culture that treats information as a critical asset
    • Implementing information governance, data protection, and privacy initiatives, including creating policies, procedures, and job aids
    • Utilizing technology to advance program goals and uphold classification standards
    • Performing controls and risk assessments related to third-party risk, privacy, and data protection
    • Conducting privacy impact assessments on data incidents and coordinating with Security Services and Legal for incident resolution
    • Developing strategies to locate information across the organization and manage its lifecycle
    • Preparing for regulatory audits/examinations and promptly addressing any findings
    • Utilizing tools to monitor projects, oversee deliverables, and generate reports supporting program objectives
    • Assessing compliance for information governance, data protection, and privacy, and establishing controls to assess risk
    • Establishing and maintaining the organization's Records and Information Management (RIM) program, ensuring proper retention and disposal of information in all formats, including dealing with legacy data

    The ideal Information Governance Analyst should possess:

    • A keen interest in addressing data challenges, with background in information governance, data protection, and privacy
    • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or other scripting languages
    • Understanding and experience working with enterprise systems, networks, databases, and technical domains
    • Attention to detail, customer focus, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to interpret business needs, and establish fruitful relationships
    • Expertise in establishing capabilities for automated data classification, data security, and data protection
    • A degree in information management, information systems, law, computer science, or equivalent experience in a related field
    • Knowledge of classification standards and their configurations
    • Certifications in Information, Data, Privacy Records, or Security, such as: Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Management (CIPM), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
