    Job Description


    Equinox Personal Trainers provide personalized attention, professional instruction, and exercise programming to maximize each member's health, fitness, and wellness goals while providing exceptional customer service.


    Internship Program


    The Equinox Personal Training Internship offers students a unique opportunity to learn and work alongside fitness industry experts in our cutting-edge facilities. This program bridges academic knowledge with real-world experience, helping students develop essential skills for a career in personal training. The training provides broad applicability to related businesses, and participants can access our proprietary education, the Equinox Fitness Training Institute (EFTI).


    Responsibilities


    • Complete a variety of projects that encourage immersion in the business and mimic undergraduate curriculum
    • Study injuries, document causes, signs, symptoms, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention
    • Become familiar with specialties and certifications of interest
    • Design programs based on selected trainers' goals, injuries, and athletic history
    • Research conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, pregnancy, and cardiovascular disease
    • Participate in member experience and engagement activities

    Application Process


    • The screening process prioritizes criteria that assess potential for learning, enthusiasm, academic achievements, and relevant coursework

    Qualifications


    • Eligibility to earn academic credit
    • At least 2-years completion towards an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or other applicable majors
    • Outgoing and personable disposition
    • Passion for fitness and helping others reach their health and wellness goals
    • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Customer-service oriented
    • Effective oral and written communications skills
    • Results oriented with ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time
    • Previous Personal Training experience preferred but not required

    This role is an educational and training opportunity, not employment. Interns will not displace or perform the function of any paid employee.
