    Description

    Job Title:

    CNC Programmer

    Launch a new offline programming department to improve overall CNC throughput, quality, and process standardization. The program will include creating a standardized tooling library, routers, updating existing routers collectively with Manufacturing Engineering, CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling/fixturing, and work instructions.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Utilize integration software (Esprit, etc.) to transfer engineered models into machine language for manufacturability.
    • Perform offline processing on a workstation to simulate CNC programs before downloading, improving quality, machinability, and equipment throughput.
    • Create a centralized location to store proven programs for download to various CNC machines.
    • Collaborate with department tech leads to prove out programs and reduce cycle times on the shop floor.
    • Evaluate and analyze engineering drawings/models for accuracy, manufacturability, and feasibility.
    • Initiate and implement process improvements focusing on cost reductions, quality improvements, and safety.
    • Interface with other departments to resolve issues and improve manufacturability.

    Requirements:

    • Technical degree or equivalent experience.

    Essential Skills:

    • Minimum 5 years CNC Programming experience, specifically lathes.
    • Experience programming twin spindle, multi turret lathes.

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Experience programming Index, Citizen, and Okuma lathes.
