Summary Job Summary Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Provides timely medical/forensic examination of the sexual assault/forensic patient under the authorization of a law enforcement agency or adult or Child Protective Services.
Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

4.
Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.

Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.

Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
Work Experience Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required, preferably in a hospital based acute care setting in the following areas: SANE, Trauma, Emergency Department, ICU, Pediatrics, Woman's Health or other related field.
Current BLS training is required.
Completion of the ACLS training within 6 months of being in the department is required.
Completion of the PALS training within 6 months of being in the department is required.
Certified Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (CA-SANE) and Certified Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (CP-SANE) through the Texas Office of Attorney General (OAG) is required.
Education and Training Bachelor degree in Nursing is required.
Completion of the following trainings are required to be obtained within one year of being in the department:
