    Description

    Join the team at Houston Methodist as a Staff Registered Nurse (RN), where you'll be responsible for providing top-notch nursing care to a diverse patient population. As a Staff RN, you'll work closely with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and compassionate care delivery, while also taking on leadership responsibilities to mentor new staff and contribute to departmental initiatives.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Establish rapport with patients, families, and the healthcare team through effective communication and active listening.
    • Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting colleagues and seeking guidance when needed.
    • Provide patient education, mentorship to staff, and contribute to departmental improvement initiatives.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    • Follow patient-centered care standards and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and communicate comprehensive care plans.
    • Advocate for patients and families to address clinical and ethical concerns, ensuring holistic care delivery.
    • Enhance departmental patient satisfaction scores through adherence to service standards.

    QUALITY & SAFETY

    • Adhere to nursing standards and utilize evidence-based practices to enhance quality of care and patient safety.
    • Coordinate care for complex patients and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

    FINANCIAL

    • Manage time efficiently, document care accurately, and contribute to departmental financial targets.
    • Optimize efficiency to meet financial goals according to departmental specifications.

    GROWTH & INNOVATION

    • Champion innovative care pathways and support practice changes to enhance patient care.
    • Identify areas for improvement and present innovative solutions backed by evidence-based practices.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
    • Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a healthcare setting
    • Active RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 90 days OR Temporary State Licensure within 90 days, Basic Life Support (AHA), and other department-defined certifications

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Demonstrated proficiency in essential job skills and competencies
    • Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with patients, colleagues, and physicians
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work autonomously and exercise good judgement in decision-making
