    Description
    Summary of Position:
    The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining procurement and inventory strategies to support our supply chain operations. Key responsibilities include evaluating market conditions, maintaining stock availability, controlling costs, and establishing relationships with key vendors. Additionally, the Commodity Manager will provide guidance to other team members on best practices in procurement activities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Departmental Function:
    • Develop and manage pricing strategies.
    • Negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers.
    • Maximize commodity buying efficiency and procurement processes.
    • Build and maintain a strong commodity supply base.
    • Ensure supply chain projects and goals are met.
    • Assist in adhering to approved budgets.
    Cost Control/Market Analysis:
    • Analyze market and delivery conditions.
    • Estimate product values based on market prices.
    • Prepare market analysis reports.
    • Advise on pricing strategies relative to changes in supply chain input pricing.
    Vendor Management:
    • Manage contracts and negotiations with key suppliers.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to improve performance.
    • Maintain communication to ensure ongoing performance and relationship stability.
    • Ensure adherence to company specifications by suppliers.
    • Review and escalate expedite delivery requirements.
    Commodity Focus:
    • Focus on primary conductor bar materials, aluminum extrusion, plastic cover, etc.
    Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to analyze market trends and make informed decisions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
    • Willingness to travel as needed (5-10%).
    Other Requirements:
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Technical understanding of products is beneficial.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
