    Under the direction of the chiropractic physician, administer therapeutic services, including electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and stretching and strengthening activities.

    Support the function of the chiropractic service areas.


    Job DetailsJob Responsibilities:


    Work within the Scope of Practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Unlicensed Supportive Personnel under the Ohio Revised CodeInterviews patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality.

    Applies selected modality, concentrating on any areas of particular discomfort.
    Monitors patient's responses to treatment and adjusts, changes or terminates treatment based on feedback.
    Properly documents patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedbacks and results.
    Maintains therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile and Organizational state. Orders supplies as necessary.


    Ohio Revised code :
    Professional responsibilities shall only be delegated by the order of a licensed chiropractic physician.

    Professional responsibilities within the meaning of this rule include:
    Taking measurements for height, weight, blood pressure, respiration, pulse, and temperature;Recording observable signs and symptoms;Collecting bodily fluids for diagnostic purposes;Applying hot and/or cold packs;Applying mechanical traction;Applying electrical stimulation;Applying vasopneumatic devices;Applying diathermy;Applying therapeutic ultrasound;Exercise instruction and supervision of exercise activities; Supervision of therapeutic procedures;Assist patients to safely perform activities related to the development of strength and endurance;Other services or procedures as deemed appropriate by the board

    Other duties as assignedEducation:
    High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited massage therapy training program required.


    Certifications:
    Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio required.
    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

    Competencies (Complexity of Work):
    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    Must be able to work in a stressful environment.


    Work Experience:
    Minimum one year experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
    Experience working in a health care field preferred.


    Physical Requirements:
    Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.
    Requires standing and walking for extended times.
    Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.
    Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.


    Personal Protective Equipment:
    Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
