    Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking per diem Addictions Counselors for the weekends to join our team.

    The Addictions Counselor will p rovide counseling and case management services while also being responsible for monitoring and delivering high quality services to co-occurring diagnosed/chemically dependent patients. Primary responsibilities include: coordination of the full continuum of care; assessment and documentation of clinical needs; implementing and delivering individual, group therapy and educational services; preparation of PCPC reports. The provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu; crisis intervention; and full participation with the multidisciplinary team toward meeting a patient's treatment plan objectives. Discharge planning and referrals to community resources as required.

    Qualifications
    • Master's degree with a major in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or other related field which includes a practicum in a health and human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
    • Clinical/Social Work licensure in commonwealth of Pennsylvania is preferred.
    • Must possess knowledge of co-occurring disorders / chemical dependency treatment approaches, motivational interviewing, 12 Step Program recovery philosophies, basic counseling group processes, therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and developmental conditions impacting treatment, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques, understanding of funding sources, community resources, and discharge planning.
