    The mission of Hope the Mission is to prevent, reduce, and eliminate poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
    Job Purpose


    The Senior Director of Finance will play a critical role in partnering with the CFO and the Executive Leadership team in the further development of the finance department of Hope the Mission.

    This role will help to enhance the current structure by overseeing financial aspects of the business and driving the company's financial strategy and planning.

    This role is responsible for assessing the financial performance of the organization.

    This position will work closely with the CFO in overseeing audit and internal control operations, prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a regular basis and conduct analysis to make forecasts and report up to upper executives.

    Expertise and Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement financial strategies

    Work closely with the CFO in developing the annual budget

    Work with leadership in analyzing contracts and developing annual operating and capital budgets for contract implementation.

    Analyze budget variance and recommend strategies for improvement

    Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

    Providing internal and external auditors with the information they need and implementing their recommendations

    Retain constant awareness of Hope the Mission's financial position and act to prevent problems

    Analyze business and financial data.

    Creates financial models based on analyses to support organization decision making.

    Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

    Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives

    Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.

    Monitor progress and keep the senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status.

    Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting

    Provide overall financial oversight and monitoring, including development and implementation of sound fiscal management practices and internal controls

    Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation.


    Coordinate and lead the annual audit process; liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.

    Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.

    Performs other related duties as assigned by CFO.

    Requirements and Skills

    Proven experience as a Director of Finance or a similar role

    In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices

    Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting

    Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management softwares (e.g. QuickBooks Online)

    An analytical mind with a strategic ability

    Excellent organizational and leadership skills

    Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

    BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MS/MA is a plus

    CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
