    Job Title

    Biologics Analytical R&D Internship Overview

    This internship offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain world-class experience in a leading pharmaceutical company. As a member of the Biologics Analytical Research and Development (R&D) organization, you will contribute to the creation and development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) engines for pharmaceutical development projects.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate software configurations against pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and determine the best options based on pre-established acceptance parameters.
    • Classify incoming information from external sources into specific categories, provide meaningful summaries, and identify subject matter experts using automated communications.
    • Design a tool to screen and summarize financial information and invoices for pre-defined work packages to generate an accurate estimate or prediction of costs for future work.
    • Create a dynamic tool to automate resource planning and work package projections to predict time and financial efficiencies, allowing real-time adjustment of resources, task re-prioritizations, and/or outsourcing opportunities.

    Key Expectations:

    • Follow a dynamic regulatory environment to maintain quality standards.
    • Effectively manage local and global interfaces across impacted stakeholders, including R&D and IT functions.
    • Influence mid- and long-term strategic focus areas while articulating new opportunities for AI/ML applications within the business.
    • Build strong relationships with peers to create and implement technology solutions.
    • Learn quickly, grasp the essence, and be open to suggestions where indicated.

    This internship will be based in North Chicago, IL.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Master's or PhD in computer or data science (or other related field) with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational linguistics, natural language processing, or equivalent.
    • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Expected graduation date between December 2025 – July 2026.
    • Familiarity with pharmaceutical development preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in professional industries.
