Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Facility Technician to support daily facility operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing facility systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, and general building infrastructure. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced working in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on facility equipment and building systems
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (high and low voltage)
Troubleshoot mechanical systems and support general equipment maintenance
Perform plumbing repairs including PVC work and soldering
Support hydraulic repairs and troubleshooting
Maintain and repair lighting systems (LED and fluorescent)
Work with and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Perform welding, cutting, and metal fabrication (sanitary stainless-steel welding preferred)
Assist with facility installations and upgrades (electrical piping/installation experience a plus)
Support basic HVAC work (preferred but not required)
Operate industrial tools and shop equipment safely
Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors on facility-related projects
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and maintenance records
Follow OSHA and company safety policies and maintain a clean work area
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience OR completion of a 2-year technical training program in a related field
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Welding and fabrication experience required
Experience in food manufacturing or similar regulated environment strongly preferred
Familiarity with stainless steel sanitation practices is a plus
Knowledge of VFDs and ability to troubleshoot electrical components
Ability to recognize electrical hazards and use proper PPE and testing tools
Ability to obtain powered industrial truck certification
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
Must provide basic maintenance tools required for the role
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
Ability to work in confined or awkward positions when needed
Exposure to noise, dust, heat, humidity, chemicals, and wet environments
May require indoor/outdoor work depending on facility needs
Overtime, weekends, and urgent response coverage may be required
