    Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie.

    Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology.

    In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

    Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC.

    Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.

    Position Summary The Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) provides safe, expedient, and cost-effective recreational services.

    As a LRT, you will work in an inpatient psychiatric setting with patients for whom abilities to cope with tasks of living are threatened or impaired by bio-psychosocial maladjustments.

    You will be involved in clinical decision-making (such as patient assessment, treatment selection and reassessment of treatment efficacy), goal directed care planning and patient education.

    Minimum Requirements

    BS/BA or higher in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or Recreation Administration with an option in Therapeutic Recreation

    Nationally credentialed as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)

    Maintain State of North Carolina Licensure as a Licensed Recreational Therapist through the State of North Carolina Recreation Certification Board (NCBRTL)

    Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification upon hire and maintained during employment

    Must be able to successfully complete Crisis Intervention Training Other Information

    40 hours a week

    12 hour shifts (7 am - 7 pm)

    Primarily Weekends with some rotation to work Weekendays in each schedule
