    Position PurposeTo assist the Principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of the Bedwell Elementary School, and to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.

    Essential Functions

    • Help establish and maintain an effective learning climate
    • Collaborate with teachers, staff, parents/guardians, and Principal to maintain positive relationships and support student achievement
    • Observe and evaluate teachers; assist and advise teachers in instructional methodology and organizing classrooms for effective learning
    • Maintain high standards of student conduct and oversee all aspects of student discipline
    • Create master schedule for the building, coordinating with administrative colleagues in regards to building needs and shared staff
    • Create class schedules, duty schedules, chaperone schedules
    • Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance
    • Serve as the School Testing Coordinator
    • Oversee extracurricular activities
    • Assist in ensuring Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed with fidelity

    Experience/Certification:

    • Teaching or Administrator experience at the Elementary level.
    • Understanding of collaborative staff and student centered leadership.
    • Knowledge of Special Education, Multi Lingual learners and Preschool a plus.
    • NJ Principal Certification
